Dr. Joseph Hummel is the owner and supervising physician of the Prime MD Aesthetics & Wellness Center.
His goal is to provide the highest quality of truly hands-on medical care to those committed to outstanding health. By creating a unique patient-physician relationship, Dr. Hummel utilizes customized hormone and nutritional supplementation coupled with tailored lifestyle modifications to optimize his patients health.
As a former collegiate athlete and husband and father, Dr. Hummel recognizes the importance of “functioning at peak performance” and of achieving one’s highest level of vitality.
Dr. Hummel completed his undergraduate degree at UNC-Chapel Hill in 1998 where he was a nationally ranked heavyweight wrestler for the Tar Heels. Dr. Hummel matriculated from UNC- Chapel Hill Medical School where he won the 1998 Salber-Phillips Award on Care for the Aging. Joseph completed his Family Medicine residency at the Mayo Clinic. He is board-certified with a clinical focus on anti-aging medicine and medical informatics.
He has been practicing Emergency Medicine since 2006 at emergency departments in North Carolina and Texas where he has served over 70,000 patients. Dr. Hummel is the current Assistant Medical Director of Lenoir Hospital’s Emergency Department, he has been named Physician of the Year in 2009, 2012, 2014, and 2015.
Dr. Hummel currently resides in Wake Forest, NC with his wife Shelly and daughter Sophia. The Hummel’s are active members of Hope Lutheran Church where Joseph serves as congregational chair and as medical director for “Touched by Hope” and “Night to Shine.” The Hummel’s own a 67-acre farm in Louisburg, NC where they help raise chickens, goats, tilapia, and cattle as well as tend to an orchard, garden, and a 60+ kilowatt solar fields.
Angie Williams, bsn, rn
A 1997 Magna Cum Laude graduate of Walters State College of Nursing and obtained her BSN, also graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2003 from King College in Bristol, Tennessee. Angie has spent the last 20 years specializing in Women’s Health, Anti-aging and Emergency medicine. Angie has several added certification in her field, in addition to many advanced aesthetic training certifications.
Angie lives with her husband Chris in Cary, NC, and has three children. She is actively involved in the community with a passion for feeding the children.
Angie brings a caring approach to her patients and enjoys involving them in their treatment plans, so they can make educated decisions. She strives to make every patient feel special and invigorated just because when they look in the mirror they feel better.

Catherine Miller, CDO
Catherine leads the Prime MD team in developing business strategies and key relationships that respond to fulfilling the company mission to provide life-changing and life-improving cutting-edge optimal health wellness and age Management.
“Prolific Entrepreneur” is the best way to describe Catherine’s 35+ year career in business. Catherine graduated cum laude from the University of Illinois with an Architecture degree and went on to design hospitals and clinics for major health care institutions across the country, achieving recognition from the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics for her design of the Digestive Diseases Clinic, the UIHC Burn Center and the Colloton Pavilion. With an affinity for building businesses, she went on to start her own interior design company, architecture company, commercial construction company, and commercial real estate development company. Catherine serves on several Boards, most recently, as the founding co-sponsor of the Duke Dream Campaign.
In her spare time besides spending time with her lovely family, Catherine plays classical piano, is a watercolor amateur artist, a longbow archer and amateur inventor. Catherine’s passion is helping others succeed; she genuinely loves mentoring young business entrepreneurs by assisting in identifying business sector market trends, advising on establishing strategic vision, and developing and implementing business plans that achieve operational excellence.
Dave Comer, PA
David M. Comer (PA-C) is the managing physician assistant at Prime MD. He builds genuine relationships with patients in order to promote healthy lifestyle choices and deliver outstanding individualized medical care.
Mr. Comer completed his Bachelor of Arts in International Studies at the University of South Carolina in 1998. He went on to earn his Certificate in Physician Assistant Studies at Western University of Health Sciences in Chico, CA, in 2000, where he specialized in bringing healthcare to medically underserved areas.
He worked for 15 years in Raleigh, NC, in a busy internal medicine practice focusing on geriatric care. He joined Prime MD in January 2016 to establish and build high quality primary care practices in Cambridge Village of Apex and Cambridge Village of Wilmington. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants since 1998.
Mr. Comer lives in Raleigh, NC with his wife, Denise, and their three boys, Owen, Ethan, and Drew. In his spare time, he enjoys writing music and performing with his rock band. He also enjoys hiking and traveling with his family.
