When having a chemical peel, you can expect some redness and peeling in the days following the treatment. During this time, it is important to stay out of direct sun exposure and to use a broad spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher to protect your skin from further sun damage. It is also important to use only gentle cleansers, moisturizers and other skincare products during the healing process.
The frequency of treatments will depend on the type and strength of peel chosen, as well as your individual skin care needs. Most people can benefit from a chemical peel every 4-6 weeks.
Typically, recovery time is 3-7 days. Depending on the type of peel performed, you may notice some redness or peeling in the days following your treatment.
Results vary from person to person, but a chemical peel can help improve the appearance of wrinkles, acne scars, pigmentation issues and uneven skin tone.
